It was opened in Perm in 1985. Nowadays it is located in the central room of the Perm branch of Uralsvyazinform OJSC.
More than five thousand of exhibits were collected during 25 years of work. Each document and item, and their number in the main exhibition is more than six hundred, has its own “legend”. The exhibition provides a detailed picture of the development of communication in Perm region – from the first postal trio of horses to computer technology.
The museum has preserved a collection of insulators, radio tubes, telephones, but the “live” operating exhibits are particularly interesting, for example, the mockup of the step-by-step exchange ATS-54 teletype T-100, machine for welding of fiber optic cable KSS-111, portable TV set Silelis 405D, etc. The visitors of museum have a unique chance to try them in operation.
The total collection of the museum includes about 5000 exhibits. The thematic excursions for the different groups of visitors are conducted.
